Since returning from SunshinePHP I have been using IRC again. I may start posting about the various functions it offers, as I learn them.

Today I discovered Slack, and got our team set up. We should be fully up and running by the end of the week. By that I mean that everyone (6 people) should have accepted my invite by then.

We have been using Skype for chatting and flinging files, but since rediscovering IRC, I was thinking it would be nice to get our team on that. However, now I think Slack may be even better.

What it really got me thinking about though is that what we really need more of here is the use of “industry standard” tools. I’m not sure if Slack fits that description, but I think it’s probably better than Skype.
